models. Their ability to rapidly
adapt to new component ecosystems
helps
in
scaling
production
efficiently.
• Localization & Value Addition:
With policy pushes like Make in
India
and Atmanirbhar
Bharat,
MSMEs are increasingly contribut-
ing to localizing parts like metal
enclosures, stands, PCBs, OPS
systems, and embedded firmware.
• Software Innovation: Several
tech-driven MSMEs have ventured
into AI-based software solutions
that integrate with IFPs for hand-
writing recognition, gesture control,
and remote classroom management.
• After-Sales Service & Support:
MSMEs also contribute to the
service
ecosystem
-
providing
installation,
maintenance,
and
on-site troubleshooting, especially
in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where
large players have limited reach.
The Policy Push: Enabling MSME
Participation
Government initiatives such as the
PLI
scheme
(Production-Linked
Incentive), Credit Guarantee Funds,
MSME SAMBANDH etc. have
opened avenues for small players to
participate in larger tenders, get
working
capital,
and
improve
supply chain linkages. Further,
inclusion of IFPs in digital class-
room initiatives under PM SHRI
schools and Samagra Shiksha Abhi-
yan has widened the scope for
MSME-led innovation and supply.
However, challenges remain - from
the high cost of capital to import
dependencies
on
core
display
components. For India to emerge as
a global EdTech manufacturing hub,
cluster-based development, R&D
support, and access to quality certifi-
cations must be made more accessi-
ble & affordable to MSMEs.
Building the Future Together
EdTech is no longer a supplementa-
ry tool - it is foundational to how
India will educate 250 million
school-going children and train its
workforce for the future. MSMEs,
with their agility, ingenuity, and
grassroots penetration, are uniquely
positioned to fuel this transforma-
tion.
As Interactive Flat Panels become
the centrepiece of modern class-
rooms and conference rooms alike,
MSMEs will not just manufacture
devices - they will shape learning
ecosystems. By empowering them,
we invest not just in industry, but in
the intellectual future of the nation.
