Q. How is NORD incorporating
new technologies into its drive
systems?
NORD
is
actively
integrating
advanced technologies into its
drive
systems
to
enhance
performance,
efficiency,
and
connectivity. This includes the
adoption
of
smart
frequency
inverters,
condition
monitoring
systems,
and
predictive
maintenance solutions that enable
real-time data analysis and remote
diagnostics.
By
leveraging
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
capabilities and intelligent control
systems, NORD ensures seamless
integration
with
Industry
4.0
environments.
Additionally,
innovations
inenergy-efficient
motors and digital drive solutions
allow for optimized operation,
reduced
downtime,and
lower
energy consumption across diverse
industrial applications. We work on
providing
efficient
system
solutions
to
our
valuable
customers.
Q. Can you highlight any recent
innovations
or
product
developments?
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS
has
introduced
a
series
of
notable developments in early to
mid‑2025, including the expanded
MAXXDRIVE industrial gear units
(XJ, XD and XT variants) designed
for demanding crane and bulk
material
applications,
featuring
robust UNICASE housings and
modular options for constrained
installations & also, introduction of
case size 2 in XD & XJ type. The
versatile NORDAC PRO SK 500P
frequency inverter now offers
power up to 22 kW, multi‑protocol
Ethernet connectivity, positioning
control and compatibility with
diverse sytem
designs.
The
compact,
high‑efficiency
DuoDrive a patented integration of
an IE5+ synchronous motor and
single‑stage helical gear delivering
system efficiency up to 92 %,
plug‑and‑play
commissioning,
high power density and low noise.
Complementing
these
product
innovations, NORD has launched
version 3
of
its
Windows
parameterization software
and
enhanced
its
NORDCON MOBILE‑APP,
both
offering customizable dashboards,
context‑sensitive
help
and
oscilloscope tools for smarter drive
setup and monitoring.
Q. How is NORD responding to
the growing demand for Industry
4.0 solutions?
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS
is
aggressively
advancing
its
Industry 4.0 strategy by embedding
decentralized intelligence directly
into its drive electronics each
frequency inverter includes an
internal PLC to autonomously
manage sequences, motion control,
and data evaluation at the edge,
reducing the processing burden on
central
systems. These
drives
support
all
major
industrial
Ethernet and fieldbus protocols
(e.g.
Profinet,
EtherCAT,
EtherNet/IP) and offer analogue
and digital I/O to interface with
sensors and actuators, enabling
seamless integration into smart
factory architectures. Coupled with
real‑time status data transmission
either via supervisory systems or
direct
cloud
upload
NORD’s
solutions
facilitate
advanced
condition
monitoring
and
predictive maintenance, including
experimental virtual‑sensor-based
oil
ageing
prediction,
thus
minimizing
downtime
and
optimizing
service
planning.
Through in‑house application test
zones, NORD demonstrates these
capabilities to clients, continually
evolving
its
data‑driven
maintenance
services
and
supporting modular, autonomous
production systems.
Q. What
are
NORD
India’s
goals for the next 2–3 years?
Expansion is never ending process;
we have made some expansions in
past years like in 2019 by taking a
bigger warehouse & establishing
plant
3
in
year
2023.
Our
expansions plans are in the process
with enhancement in assembly
capacity as well as machining in
future. We are planning to set up
this new plant within 2 – 3 years to
cater
our
customers
increasing
demand.
