This
October,
the
Renewable
Energy India (REI) Expo 2025 is
going beyond dazzling exhibits and
powerful panels. In a landmark
move, REI will host Season 5 of the
Solar
Premier
League
(SPL)
a high-voltage skill showcase that
puts the spotlight not just on what we
build, but how we build it.
Held from October 30 to November
1, 2025 at the India Expo Centre &
Mart, Greater Noida, REI 2025 isn’t
just the largest clean energy gather-
ing in India it’s the biggest in the
solar industry. With 1000+ exhibi-
tors, 50,000+ visitors, and a reputa-
tion for shaping the renewable
energy narrative of the nation, no
one in the industry can afford to miss
this event.
This year, REI is not only a technol-
ogy showcase it’s becoming a
national platform for skills, sustain-
ability, and empowerment.
What is SPL?
The Solar Premier League (SPL) is
not your average competition. It’s a
live, skill-based challenge where
participants demonstrate how to
professionally install solar energy-
systems from mounting panels and
managing cabling to connecting in-
verters and ensuring safety proto-
cols. This is where India’s renewable
energy dreams get their boots dirty
literally.
In its fifth season, SPL is shifting
from standalone stages to REI’s
mega platform, evolving into a
nation-building movement.
It’s no longer just a contest it’s a
campaign for real skills, real jobs,
and real impact.
A Special Spotlight: Women Em-
powerment
In a powerful push towards inclusiv-
ity, SPL Season 5 will proudly
feature an All-Women Solar Installa-
tion Team. This initiative highlights
the rising role of women in the green
energy workforce not just in leader-
ship, but on the ground, in action.
Women empowerment in renewable
energy isn’t a buzzword anymore it’s
a movement, and REI 2025 is plac-
ing it front and center.
What Happens in SPL Season 5?
At the core of SPL is performance
under pressure.
Participants will be evaluated on:
• Speed & accuracy of installation
• Safety and compliance protocols
• System functionality and perfor-
mance
• Team coordination and prob-
lem-solving
This year, the competition will also
introduce modules focused on new
technologies including hybrid sys-
tems, energy storage, and smart
metering making it a testbed for
future-ready talent.
As MNRE (Ministry of New and
Renewable Energy) and key industry
leaders lend their support, SPL
becomes more than just a skills
contest it becomes a bridge between
potential and progress.

SEASON 5
Where Solar Meets Skill, and India’s Green Future Gets Hands-On
By Ajit Bahadur
“Technology without skill is like sunlight without a panel — full of potential, but never harnessed.”
